Linnaeus University in the ground when the research money awarded – Swedish Radio

Linnaeus University is the university that may absolute minimum of government funding for research. Just over 20 percent of the state money is consecrated to research.

– It was a commitment to launch four new universities, and we do not think you completed it. So we do not really that we got what we have been promised, says Rector Stephen Hwang.

Linnaeus University are together with Karlstad, Örebro and Mid Sweden University, Sweden’s newest university.

But the bet that the government did on starting new universities have not followed up with research money equivalent to the country’s other universities – while over half of government funds to Uppsala and Lund to go to research, they new universities, less than a third of research money, the rest is training money.

and Linnaeus University is the very lowest : only 22 percent of the funds will go to research:

– Each year the boxes we research because we think it is incredibly important that we have a balance between research and education. It is important to provide a good education, but also for the business to be what they think is a university with a good research and research training.

Linnaeus University, has highlighted the issue politically but no response from the government has not received so far.

– No beeps at all actually, and it’s well a conscious policy for you and get you well accept but you do not have to be pleased with there.
