Karlshamn last out in the county with dietary manager – Swedish Radio

A growing number of municipalities in Sweden have a nutrition policy program to ensure school food quality. Now, even Karlshamn, as the last municipality in Blekinge received their dietary manager.

Annika Unt Widell on LRF project value of school meals friends says that a costly political program is a blueprint for what the municipality wants with their school meals.

– When is lunch served? What to serve? What should be the option for those who are allergic or sensitive? There are things clearer in a costly political program, she explains.

Is not it pretty obvious things

– Well, sure it is. Sweden has had free school meals since the 1970s, so municipalities have had a long time to work out their plans.

Until a few days ago only Karlshamn in the county who had no dietary manager. But now Jens Reinecke in place at his new workplace.

– I have been visiting several kitchens in the community and now I’ll hit all the employees. Much of what I’ve seen so far is good, but I hope to improve the quality of the food further, he says.
