Google pulls the cable in the Pacific – Helsingborgs Dagblad

Google, along with five Asian telecoms company agreed to invest about two billion Swedish kronor to develop and operate a network cable in the Pacific Ocean that connects the United States with Japan.

The network will at first have a capacity of 60 terabytes per second and will also be paired with the neighboring countries and thereby strengthen the capacity from Japan to other Asian countries.

In addition to Google included including China Mobile and China Telecom in the project, which is expected to be completed the second quarter in 2016.
